I am a teacher in Strabane and I have attended Limavady since I got married and moved north seven years ago. Time flies when you are having fun! I have made some great friends here, of all ages and love how everyone works together to serve God. During our holiday bible club for example, an 80 year old could be signing children in, whilst a 16 year old organises games!

In my spare time I like to watch rubbish TV and create things…anything really…cakes, jewellery, cushions and cards. My current project is building a toy kitchen for my niece!

I’ve been a Christian since I was about 5 but I’m still learning… Mostly that my salvation from my sin is nothing to do with me! Good job too!

I grew up in Limavady and then left for college, coming back in the summers to work at Benone and the Roe Valley Leisure Centre. I moved back to the town in 2005 and since then have got married to Claire, work in an office and am a member of the local cycling and triathlon clubs.

I became a Christian after being really struck that I wasn’t a good person and that I had been mostly living to please myself. I’d achieved some of the things I wanted to and missed out on some others, but either way I usually ended up dis-satisfied, always wanting more. One day I remembered what was taught in Sunday School and prayed, asking forgiveness for living like I was god.

Now that I’m a Christian I’m still not perfect. The difference is I now admit it and trust that Jesus has taken away the punishment I deserve. I also try to live the way the Bible teaches. This doesn’t mean I am earning points with God, we can’t do that, it means that I try and do what God wants out of thankfulness for what he has done for me. I can still enjoy trying to achieve things, but now I try to keep the right perspective and have a peace that whatever happens in life, God will help me through.

I am a member of Limavady RP Church because here I found a place that will teach me what is in the Bible and challenge me on areas of my life and character that still need some work. I’m encouraged to question the teaching and check what is being taught against what is written in the Bible. I also admire the people who make up the church, giving of their time to help the local community, genuinely caring and who have helped me through various stages of my life so far. Of course the church isn’t perfect either! Like any family, we still have to forgive each other, just like Jesus has forgiven us.

Neville: I have been living in Limavady for many years. I work in an office and in my spare time I like cycling, both road and mountain bikes and I am a member of Roe Valley Cycling Club. I became a Christian in my early teens and I enjoy serving God in many of the organisations within the congregation.

Rhonda: I have lived in Limavady since I was 11 having moved from Ballymoney. I am a housewife with a part time job. I like walking our dog and also doing a bit of gardening. I became a Christian as a child and have really enjoyed serving God in various ways over the years.

We were married in 1987 and have two grown up daughters. Limavady RP has, for us, been an extended family. There is a lovely, warm fellowship within the church and we have benefited greatly from being part of that. We are taught very clearly from the Bible every week and our own lives, as Christians, are constantly being challenged and yet constantly encouraged. We would love to see you come along to any of our meetings. You would be very warmly welcomed and we know that God will bless you.

Our family has been part of Limavady RP Church for over four years now – as I was called to be the pastor of the congregation and installed here in April of 2011.

My main hobby is history and I have a particular interest in the history of County Donegal as I was born in that beautiful part of the world. I also have a keen interest in the Irish language having learnt it at school in Donegal and even taught it for a while at a school in Dublin.

I have been married to Carole, originally from Bangor, Co Down, since November of 1995; we have been blessed with four daughters, Eileanoir, Labhaoise, Rosaleen and Iona.

We are very glad to be part of Limavady RP Church and have found it to be a community where the love of Christ is experienced in the good brotherly and sisterly relationships that we enjoy with one another. My priority as a pastor is to proclaim the good news about the salvation that is freely given to all who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
